A skilled presenter, Palmer is an end-of-life activist, author, educator, and a trained hospice volunteer. He serves on the boards of a number of organizations focusing on end-of-life issues, including Montgomery Hospice. He has written ten books — the latest, is Achieving a Good Death: A Practical Guide to the End of Life (Bloomsbury, October 2024).
