The National Museum of the Marine Corps is a state-of-the-art facility which preserves and narrates America's story through the eyes of U.S. Marines. Situated on a 135-acre site adjacent to Marine Corps Base Quantico, it is one of the top tourist attractions in the state. Its magnificent architectural design features a dramatic 210-foot tilted steel mast and glass atrium inspired by the flag raisings at Iwo Jima. Learn about the role the Corps played in world history and US daily culture and discover museum highlights in the Leatherneck Gallery (suspended from its ceiling are five aircraft representing turning points in Marine Corps aviation). Explore irreplaceable artifacts in era galleries: World War II, World War I, Korean War, and Vietnam War.
